Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Yumaklı: Grape yield will be lower than expected
Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı attended the grape harvest in Saruhanlı district of Manisa province. Minister Yumaklı stated that the yield will be lower than expected due to climatic conditions and said that the export figure of 500 million dollars was reached last year.

Drawing attention to the export potential of Sultani grapes, Minister Yumaklı reported that the yield would be lower than expected due to climate change.
“In Manisa, we have symbolically inaugurated a vineyard in which sultani seedless grapes, the trademark of Manisa region are produced organically today. But in fact, with the seasons coming forward, the harvest, which we expect to start 15 days later, will probably start these days, God willing,” Yumaklı said.
“As you know, Manisa is the first in grapes. Especially the export potential of this sultani grape… It is indeed a product that is in very serious demand. Last year, there was an export figure of around 500 million dollars. Obviously, we evaluate that this year will not be very different from last year regarding the yield. It could have been a little more, but climatic conditions prevented us from having a higher yield than we expected,” Yumaklı added…
