The Turkish food sector continues its growth in the United States market, the world’s largest food importer, without slowing down…

Turkish food products received significant attention at the Summer Fancy Food Show 2026, held in New York from June 28-30, 2026, as part of the Turkish National Participation Organization coordinated by the Aegean Exporters’ Associations and approved by the Ministry of Trade.
At the 70th edition of the Summer Fancy Food Show, considered one of the most prestigious international food fairs in the USA, Türkiye was strongly represented with a national participation organization featuring 49 companies, including 13 companies from the Aegean Fisheries and Animal Products Exporters’ Association’s (IHBIR) International Competition Development Project (UR-GE) Cluster, for a total of 62 participants.
Speaking at the Turkish House in New York on behalf of six Food Exporters’ Associations as part of the Turkish Tastes Project, Bedri Girit, Vice-Chair of the Aegean Fisheries and Animal Products Exporters’ Association, summarised the project’s core philosophy with the words: “Whatever you do, however you do it, use Turkish food products.”

“With Turkish Tastes, our aim is not merely to promote Turkish food products, but to make them a natural and indispensable part of global cuisines. We are communicating the quality, reliability and sustainable production capabilities of Turkish products to all stakeholders in the food ecosystem, from chefs to restaurant chains and from hotels to the retail sector,“ Girit said.
“Wherever in the world, we want Turkish food products to feature on every plate. Because we know that Turkish products stand out not only for their flavour but also for their traceable production infrastructure, rich product variety and international quality standards,” he added.
Wine, olive oil and Turkish coffee tastings, as well as live cooking demonstrations held throughout the fair, reached tens of thousands of people via social media through influencer collaborations using the #TurkishTastes hashtag.
