Fevzi Çondur becomes new chair of the National Cotton Council…

Fevzi Çondur, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Aydın Commodity Exchange, has been elected as the new chair of the National Cotton Council (UPK).

The 15th Ordinary General Assembly Meeting of the National Cotton Council (UPK) was held at the Aegean Exporters’ Associations Conference Hall. At the meeting, which brought together all stakeholders of the cotton sector, important decisions were taken that will shape the future of the sector and new term presidential elections were held.

As a result of the election held at the general assembly, Fevzi Çondur, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Aydın Commodity Exchange, was elected as the President of the National Cotton Council with the unanimous vote of the council members. In his speech, Çondur emphasised the strategic importance of the Turkish cotton sector and underlined that they will work devotedly for the sustainability of the sector.

Pointing out that cotton is not only an agricultural product, but also a strategic value with a critical role in the economic and social development of the country, Çondur said, “With this awareness, we will expand sustainable production models and implement projects that take into account the common interests of all sector representatives from producers to industrialists. We will work with determination together with all our stakeholders to bring Turkish cotton to the position it deserves in international markets.”
