İbrahim Yumaklı: Dikili Organised Agricultural Zone will mark the beginning of a new era in agriculture

Ibrahim Yumaklı, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, announced that the Geothermal Greenhouse Organised Agricultural Zone (OTB) to be established in Dikili district of Izmir, will provide employment for 3,500 people through the production of 80,000 tonnes of fresh fruit and vegetables annually.

Noting that the Geothermal Greenhouse OTB to be established in Dikili region will mark the beginning of a new era in agriculture, Yumaklı said, “We are bringing together modern technology, resource efficiency and renewable energy in a massive facility. A 3 million square metre integrated production and industrial area, the use of environmentally friendly geothermal and solar energy, an annual production of 80,000 tonnes of fresh fruit and vegetables and employment for 3,500 people.”

Yumaklı also emphasised that the high-tech facilities, which will be heated using renewable energy, will provide employment for approximately 3,500 people, 75 percent of whom will be women…
