TESK President Bendevi Palandöken warned of the local, organic and natural products fraud.
Turkey Tradesmen and Artisans Confederation (TESK) Chairman Bendevi Palandöken said, “Local products are advertised every step of the way on the internet. There are sellers who write ‘genuine’ to the fraudulent product and those who stick straw to the egg so that it looks ‘organic’. Imported rice is sold as ‘domestic rice’. In no way honey can be sold for 30 liras and butter for 25 liras.”
Palandöken noted that we should treat with suspicion by all local products carrying a label as natural, organic or local.
Fraud of organic, natural or local product…
In a written statement, Palandöken explained, “Advertisements of organic, natural or local products that come to the fore in order to strengthen immunity especially on the internet after the pandemic can be deceptive. We should avoid unqualified products that we do not know what is used in them, we should only buy food from the producers we know. For this, our citizens must be vigilant. Since there is no possibility to put a guard or police on every fraudster, the citizen should do the auto-control and not whet the appetite of these fraudsters.”
