Mediterranean Cereals, Pulses, Oil Seeds and Products Exporters’ Association (AHBİB), which supports Türkiye’s 12.4 billion dollar exports of cereals, pulses, oilseeds and products in 2023 with a value of 2.1 billion dollars and realised exports of 1.47 billion dollars in 9 months of 2024, participated in the world’s largest food and beverage fair SIAL Paris 2024 under the umbrella of Turkish Food Exporters.
In the fair where 7,500 companies from meat and dairy products, market products, frozen foods, alternative biogoods, seafood, beverages, catering, snacks, fruit and vegetable and food processing sectors opened stands, 10 AHBİB member companies introduced their innovative products and held more than 150 meetings to establish new trade connections. The total number of companies travelling from Türkiye to the French capital was 346.
Turkish delicacies were presented to the taste of food professionals…
In the giant event where 130 countries were represented, treats from the Turkish palate were presented to the taste of food professionals. Veysel Memiş, Chairman of the Board of Directors of AHBİB, also participated in the tasting events and developed warm dialogues by offering treats to the visitors of the fair.
Pointing out that Türkiye has been participating in SIAL Paris Fair, which celebrates its 60th anniversary, for 38 years and this year, with the national participation organisation of Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (İTO), a total of 294 companies from 37 provinces introduced their products and services, while cereals, pulses, oil seeds and products companies joined forces under the roof of Turkish Food Exporters.
Trade volume of the companies participating in SIAL is 50 billion euros…
Reminding that the total trade volume of 8 thousand companies participating in SIAL Paris is approximately 50 billion euros, Veysel Memiş said, “We want to benefit from this great potential at the highest level with the richness and diversity of Turkish taste. In SIAL Paris, which we attended to create new export markets for the Turkish food industry, our AHBİB member companies introduced their products between 19-23 October. Our treats were highly appreciated. We believe that the meetings we held at the fair, which brings together suppliers and buyers from all over the world, will further accelerate our export performance in the coming period.”
Emphasising that Türkiye was the third largest country participating in the fair after Italy and Spain, Veysel Memiş added, “Türkiye’s Ambassador to Paris Yunus Demirer honoured AHBİB’s stand with a visit and we had the opportunity to discuss the export potential in France and other countries of Europe.”
