Turkish salmon makes its debut in China!

Eastern Black Sea Exporters’ Association (DKİB) participated in the China Fisheries & Seafood Expo 2024 event held in Qingdao, People’s Republic of China with 9 project participant aquaculture exporters within the scope of the Fisheries Development of International Competitiveness Project. The companies that participated in the event, which is one of the most important fairs of the fishery sector and held between 30 October-1 November 2024, with the organisation of DKİB, brought Turkish Salmon, which is no longer a product but has become a brand, together with Far Eastern buyers.

Organised for the 27th time, China Fisheries & Seafood Expo 2024 hosted 2,696 exhibitors from 48 countries on an area of 45 thousand square metres, while the fair, in which DKİB participated with its registered Turkish Salmon brand, ‘Turkish Salmon from Black Sea’, hosted 40,000 visitors from 120 countries.

Stating that the Development of International Competitiveness Development Project carried out by DKİB has made significant progress in the promotion of Turkish salmon in foreign markets and that they have had the opportunity to open stands by benefiting from the state support in the fairs they participate as participants of the Development of International Competitiveness Development Project under the umbrella of DKİB, the company representatives announced that they encountered a much more intense interest this year at the fair, which they participated in last year with the organisation of DKİB.

Pointing out that the promotional and advertising activities carried out within the framework of the fair had an important share in the intense interest shown, the participants stated that although Turkish Salmon was the shining star of the sector, many requests were also received for other seafood and that efforts will be continued to turn this intense interest shown by Chinese buyers in the sector into a permanent cooperation between the companies of the two countries.

In the statement made by the authorities of the institution, it was underlined that the exporters participating in the China Fisheries & Seafood Expo 2024 under the roof of DKİB had the chance to make important connections by meeting with visitors and buyers from 120 countries as well as increasing the awareness of their products in the Far East markets, where there is a significant consumption of aquaculture products…
