Chicken meat production, which was 203 thousand 60 tonnes in the previous month, decreased by 5.7 percent to 191 thousand 454 tonnes in September 2023, while egg production, which was 1 billion 759 million 824 thousand units, surged by 0.2 percent to 1 billion 763 million 340 thousand units.

Egg production increased, chicken meat production decreased in September
Chicken meat production was 191 thousand 454 tonnes and chicken egg production was 1.76 billion pieces.
In the month of September, while chicken egg production soared by 2.6 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, the number of chickens slaughtered decreased by 8.3 percent, chicken meat production by 8.9 percent and turkey meat production by 32.2 percent.
In January-September period compared to the same period of the previous year, chicken egg production rose by 4.0 percent, chicken meat production declined by 5.1 percent, the number of chickens slaughtered declined by 7.6 percent and turkey meat production also declined by 14.6 percent.
