Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı announced that the agricultural census will be conducted for the first time after 2001 and the first results will be shared in June 2026. Yumaklı stated that the agricultural sector is affected by external factors and emphasised climate change and the protection of natural resources. He also stated that agricultural production will be supported by determining 61 organised agricultural zones in 42 provinces.
Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı said, “The agricultural census will be conducted for the first time after 2001. With the agricultural census, Türkiye’s agricultural inventory will be re-extracted in every aspect, administrative records will be checked and we will have all the data in the final form. Our estimates are that, in June 2026, we will share the first results with our public.”
Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı came to the Central Anatolian province of Karaman today to participate in a series of trips and visits. Minister Yumaklı first visited the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry. Making statements here, Minister Yumaklı stated that agricultural production is very much affected by external factors and said, “The fact that the agricultural sector is very much affected by external factors indicates that our activities will not continue in known issues or traditional issues related to agricultural production. Developments, especially climate change, both in the world and in our country, we say that some elements are now much more prominent in terms of protecting and protecting natural resources, especially water and ensuring the balance of use and protection, which we have defined as the new normal.”
Indicating that they have been working on agricultural production planning in 13 + 1 strategic products, Minister Yumaklı added, “The most important issue related to agricultural production was production planning, which has been discussed for many years. As of the new year, we have implemented the production planning, which focuses on water, which takes into account our resources and which will enable our producers to predict which product will be produced where and how much, at the beginning of the year for the production of animal production and aquaculture products and 13 + 1 strategic crops consisting of cereals, legumes, oil seeds and fodder crops for plant production.”
