Aegean Region expects 434 thousand 116 tons of harvest in citrus…
Tangerine yield will increase, orange will drop…
The indispensable of the winter months, natural vitamin storage, the antidote of Covid-19, citrus products in the Aegean Region were estimated to be 434 thousand 116 tons in the 2020/21 season. Citrus Yield Estimation of Aegean Region in 2019/20 season was 442 thousand 349 tons.
According to the Aegean Region Citrus Yield, which was made in cooperation with the Aegean Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association and the Aegean Agricultural Research Institute (ETAE), while orange is the leading product in the Aegean Region with 206 thousand 534 tons, orange yield decreased by 22 percent compared to the previous season.
Tangerine yield is projected as 154 thousand 245 tons with 25 percent increase compared to 2019 yield, while lemon yield is expected as 67 thousand 666 tons with 5 percent improvement. Grapefruit harvest was estimated at 5 thousand 205 tons. There is a 19 percent drop in grapefruit yield.
