OSMAN YARDIMCI: 15 PERCENT OF SACRIFICIAL MEAT GOES TO WASTE

Butchers Federation of Turkey Vice Chairman Osman Yardımcı said that the flesh of sacrificials needs to disassemble through the hands of experts, so 15 percent of the sacrificial meat is going to waste every year. This means that thousands of animals.”

Yardımcı said: “Unexperinced and novice butchers are on the streets every Feast of Qurban. Unfortunately our citizens favour with such people on the first day of the Feast in order to be able to go out of the city. But our Federation has taken all the measures, we are ready for slaughtering during the Feast days.”

Yardımcı also stated: “The best thing to do is to make use of slaughterhouses of municipalities. As a matter of fact we have provided veterinarians and skilled butchers under the service of our citizens.”

Pointing out that meat should not be wasted during the Feast, “When one kg of meat perish makes 50 liras. This is a national fortune and a pity. Novices are shredding the skin, the offal is bad, the meat is bad for the meat cut. Shredding the sacrificial meat, 15 percent of the sacrificial meat goes to the trash every year. This means thousands of animals. I advise housewifes to leave the meat in the right packaging so that the meat is not wasted. Both the slaughtering and keeping have to be done correctly” he added.

“I criticize the sacrifice of some grocery stores, it’s wrong. What else if you want to eat delicious meat after cutting at least 3-4 hours the meat should be rested in the cold environment. On the other hand roasting is required in animal’s own oil with low-fire. Lastly citizens should not be uneasy. Plenty of sacrificials so everyone has enough sacrifices. However you should demand its passport, ear tag, identity and health report definitely” he concluded…
