Egg exports in the Aegean region have soared: a 131 percent spike!

Ufuk Atakan Demir, Chair of the Aegean Fisheries and Animal Products Exporters’ Association, announced that Türkiye’s seafood and animal products sector had reached 4.04 billion dollars in exports in 2025.
“Specifically for our Association, our fishery exports rose by 14 percent to 755 million dollars and 68 percent of the country’s total fishery exports were carried out by our Association’s members,” Demir said.
“Whilst our egg exports rose by 131 percent to 98 million dollars, our poultry meat exports fell by 19 percent to 53 million dollars, our milk and dairy products exports fell by 31 percent to 17 million dollars and our honey exports fell by 3 percent to 7 million dollars,” Demir noted.
Explaining that the sector has been grappling with numerous significant challenges for many years, Demir added, “Despite this, our sector continues to produce, export and reach new markets. In this process, we are continuing our diplomatic and technical initiatives, particularly with a view to opening up export opportunities to countries that do not require veterinary health certificates.”
