Mehmet Ali Işık, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Aegean Dried Fruits and Products Exporters’ Association, stated that the labour of farmers is critical for food safety, sustainability and economic development.

Emphasizing that agricultural sector is a strategic area that shapes the future of not only Türkiye but also the whole world, Işık said, “Our farmers, who are the cornerstone of this structure, produce not only products but also future while cultivating the soil. Without their labour, sweat and knowledge, food supply security cannot be mentioned.”

Pointing out that as the Aegean Dried Fruits and Products Exporters’ Association, they have been taking concrete steps to enhance the quality of production by working hand in hand with producers for many years, Işık explained, “We continue to distribute materials such as free nets, drying pans and biotechnical traps for our farmers within our means. In addition, we encourage sustainable agricultural practices through trainings and information activities in the field. With these activities, we are building quality and safe product production together.”

Highlighting that the future of sustainable agriculture lies in knowledge-based production, Işık added, “Today, success in agriculture is possible not only by cultivating the soil, but also by accessing the right information, applying modern techniques and adopting a quality-oriented production approach. When we act with this awareness, we will reach a stronger position both in the domestic market and in exports.”
