Ali Çandır: We are establishing an organised agricultural zone in Antalya province

Antalya Commodity Exchange (ATB) is cooperating with institutions for the establishment of an organised agricultural zone, which will be the first in Türkiye’s Mediterranean province of Antalya, the capital of agriculture.

Antalya Commodity Exchange, which signed a cooperation protocol in agriculture with Antalya Governorship and Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, was entitled to receive support for the ‘Antalya Agriculture Based Specialised Greenhouse Organised Industrial Zone Feasibility Consultancy’ project submitted to the Western Mediterranean Development Agency (BAKA).

Within the scope of the project, the first step will be taken to establish an organised agricultural zone with the feasibility report to be prepared by the Commodity Exchange.

WILL BE THE FIRST IN ANTALYA…
Ali Çandır, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Antalya Commodity Exchange (ATB), signed a project with Volkan Güler, Secretary General of the Western Mediterranean Development Agency (BAKA) for the establishment of Specialised Organised Industrial Zones based on Agriculture in Antalya.

Reminding that they signed a cooperation protocol in agriculture with Antalya Governor Hulusi Şahin and Director of Agriculture and Forestry Şakir Fırat Erkal, Çandır said, “We started to work to bring an organised agricultural zone to Antalya, the province of agriculture.”

Çandır also announced that they will cooperate to establish an organised agricultural zone on greenhouse farming in Antalya province within the scope of the project titled ‘Antalya Agriculture Based Specialised Greenhouse Organised Industrial Zone Feasibility Consultancy’ supported by BAKA. “We will prepare our feasibility report for the establishment of an organised agricultural zone with the support of BAKA. Our goal is to bring the organised agricultural region, which is one of our biggest shortcomings and which we have been wanting for years, to Antalya region,” Çandır explained.

WILL BE A MODEL FOR AGRICULTURE…
Stating that the organised agricultural zone will make Antalya agriculture more professional and more value-added, Ali Çandır added, “Organised agricultural zones will be a model for our agriculture. While carrying out our agricultural activities, we aim to create areas where we focus on environmental conditions, carbon emissions, water use, renewable energy sources and technological developments. We aim for Antalya to produce better quality and more value-added products.”

Çandır concluded that the organised agricultural zone will be established in seedlings and ornamental plants with high added value in the first stage, then in fresh vegetables and other areas according to the need and thanked BAKA Secretary General Volkan Güler for supporting such a work…
