Turkish food exporters took a major step towards their target of exporting 5 billion dollars worth of food products to the United States.

Turkish food exporters, who have doubled their exports to the United States, the world’s largest food importer, to 2 billion dollars in five years through the TURQUALITY Project called Turkish Tastes, promoted Turkish food products by participating in the National Restaurant Association Show 2025, one of the largest restaurant and food service fairs in the United States and the world.

The TURQUALITY Project named Turkish Tastes, carried out in partnership with six food associations under the umbrella of the Aegean Exporters' Associations (EIB), is conducting an intensive promotional campaign to reflect the rising value of the Mediterranean diet in the United States in recent years positively on the export of Turkish food products.

Melih İşliel, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Aegean Fisheries and Animal Products Exporters’ Association, stated that healthy living has become a prominent trend in the United States in recent years and that Turkish food products are perfectly suited to meet this need in terms of freshness, taste and nutritional value.

Highlighting that after the Turkish Tastes Project began, Türkiye’s food exports to the United States surged by an average of 6.5 percent each year to reach 1.8 billion dollars, İşliel added, “Over the past five years, our food exports to the United States from the Aegean Exporters’ Associations surged by an average of 12.5 percent each year to reach 458 million dollars. Our growth rate in food exports to the United States is twice that of Türkiye as a whole. We will strive to widen this gap even further in the coming years.”
