Software engineer Bülent Samed Çiner, a member of the Agriculture Forestry Youth Council, who produces and exports citrus fruits in Mediterranean province of Mersin, wants to make the most of digital technologies in the agricultural sector, where he has been active with his family for many years.

In the fifth part of Anadolu Agency’s (AA) file news titled ‘New Generation Farmers’, Bülent Samed Çiner explained his goals regarding digital agriculture.
Stating that he has been in the agricultural sector since his childhood years and that he has grown family businesses with support, Çiner said that they produce in their farms where greenhouse, garden and field plants are located.
Pointing out that his father was influential in his orientation towards the agricultural sector, Çiner said, “I grew up in agriculture. I did everything. I grew up doing all the work from the bottom to the top. I followed the weather, managed the finance and worked as a labourer in the field.”
Emphasising the importance of supports for the agricultural sector, Çiner noted, “When we think of support, one of the biggest factors is Ziraat Bank. The bank has subsidised loans. We also received rural development support. We also used zero-interest greenhouse loans. We built a 30 decare banana greenhouse. When we have great financial support from the state, we have reached a level.”
“Without these loans and supports, it is not possible for us to do these works with our own capital. If there is no support, we cannot do this job,” Çiner added…
