Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EIB) will be holding the Turkish National Participation Organization for the 25th time on March 7-10, 2023 of the Foodex Fair in Japan, which meets the majority of its food needs through imports and realizes annual food imports of 65 billion dollars.

At Foodex Japan 2023- 48th International Food and Beverage Fair; tasting events where menus prepared according to Japanese taste to be served, olive oil tasting event, sushi event with Turkish tuna and salmon, b2b meetings between Turkish food exporters and Japanese buyers and influencer events will be organized by EIB.

Aegean Exporters’ Associations Organic Products and Sustainability Coordinator and Aegean Dried Fruits and Products Exporters’ Association Chairperson Mehmet Ali Işık pointed out that the Turkish organic sector is a sector that has complied with the goals of the European Green Agreement.

“Türkiye has an annual production of 1.6 million tonnes of organic food. The organic sector worldwide has reached a volume of 121 billion euros. The fact that Japan imports 65 billion dollars of food annually and the demand for quality and healthy food is very important for our Turkish organic sector. Aegean region is the leader in the production and export of organic products across Türkiye,” he said.

“Since 2018, we have increased our food exports to Japan from Türkiye by 58 percent and as EIB, we have ramped up our food exports to Japan by 20 percent. For four days, we will have tasting events where menus prepared from Turkish delicacies according to Japanese palatal delight to be served and we will be arranging b2b meetings with Turkish food exporters and Japanese buyers and influencer events. With our 35 years of organic experience, we have a strong place in the Foodex Fair with 39 companies,” he added…
