First Harvest of Burley Tobacco in Şebinkarahisar…
Ali Çiftçi, a producer from Yedikardeş village, Şebinkarahisar district of Giresun province, harvested Burley Tobacco, which he grew for the first time this year, by making a contract with a company.
This variety, which is similar to the tobacco grown in Şebinkarahisar region in the past, is 3 times more productive than the other one.
In addition, it is a variety that is harvested not by breaking, but by cutting it from the stem and hanging it with its stem.
In this study, which is also supported by the District Agriculture and Forestry Directorate and the District Chamber of Agriculture; with the contracted production model throughout the district, Burley tobacco was cultivated on an area of approximately 160 decares in different villages and neighborhoods and is expected to increase further next year.
