Agriculture and Forestry Minister İbrahim Yumaklı, who travelled to China for the Belt and Road Food Security Conference, signed protocols paving the way for exports of seafood, including salmon, sea bream and sea bass and almonds to China. Yumaklı stated that Türkiye is also keen to enter the Chinese market with cherries, while Sun Meijun, Head of the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China, announced that many more Turkish agricultural products will reach Chinese consumers’ tables.

Agriculture and Forestry Minister İbrahim Yumaklı, who was in Shanghai for the Belt and Road Import and Export Food Safety Conference and Sun Meijun, President of the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China, signed protocols that will pave the way for exports of seafood, primarily salmon, sea bream and sea bass, and almonds from Türkiye to China.
Speaking at the signing ceremony for the protocols envisaging agricultural cooperation between the two countries, Yumaklı emphasised that Türkiye is determined to take its friendly relations with China to the next level in all areas.

Pointing out that at time when the importance of global stability, sustainability and food security is increasing, deepening the cooperation in the field of agriculture is of great importance for their common future, Yumaklı said, “There is a great potential for developing cooperation between the two countries in the trade of agricultural products.”
