Can Selçuk, Head of Isparta Chamber of Agriculture, stated that this year’s apple yield has decreased by 30 percent compared to last year as a result of the agricultural frost. As harvest season approaches, apple production in the region is experiencing difficulties.
Can Selçuk also noted that this year’s frost across the country resulted in a 30 percent loss in apples, saying, “Last year, our yield was around 1.25 million tonnes. This year, we expect a yield of approximately 900 thousand tonnes.”
Harvest season is approaching in Isparta province, Türkiye’s leading apple producer. The apple harvest, which begins in mid-September every year and lasts for approximately two months, has decreased this year due to the frost.
