Celal Kadooğlu: Türkiye Food Exporters took their place at the Summer Fancy Food Show

Press release…

The cereal sector’s exports to the US in the first five months of the year surged by 29 percent compared to the same period last year, rising to 350.7 million dollars. The sector, which ramped up its share of Türkiye’s total exports to the US to 6.5 percent, participated in the Summer Fancy Food Show food fair held in New York between 29 June and 1 July under the umbrella brand of Turkish Food Exporters (TGİ).

Indicating that Türkiye’s presence in the US market, one of the world’s leading food importers, offers significant commercial opportunities, Celal Kadooğlu, Chair of the Southeastern Anatolia Cereals, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products Exporters’ Association, stated that the support of the Ministry of Trade gives them strength in the market.

Informing about the work carried out with the support of the Ministry of Trade to be preferred and remain a permanent supplier in a market with intense consumption alternatives such as the United States, he said, “Within the scope of our Turquality project, which aims to promote sugary products in the United States, we will carry out many activities in different areas such as advertising and promotion, social media and influencer marketing in the coming period. We aim to maintain the momentum of our export growth to the US this year through these efforts.”

“In our Southeastern Anatolia Food Cluster Ur-Ge project, which spans a three-year period, we will also conduct activities targeting member companies in other target markets, starting with distant countries after the US. The way consumers perceive added value worldwide requires greater care and foresight across multiple dimensions, from visual identity to presentation formats, pricing policies to target audience expectations. With this perspective, we view our participation in the Summer Fancy Food Show, one of the world’s largest gourmet food organisations, not just as a trade show experience but also as a way to gain a closer understanding of the dynamics of the American market,” he explained.

“The cost structures shaped by the new trade policies implemented in the United States present an important balancing ground, especially for countries like ours that focus on quality production. Turning this advantage into an opportunity requires delivering the right message, in the right way, at the right time. Such events serve as strategic touchpoints for understanding how the system operates, accessing the right distribution channels, and establishing sustainable partnerships. The support of our Ministry of Trade plays a critical role in ensuring the stable continuation of this process,” he added…
