Can vocational training become the backbone of industrial transformation? After what I witnessed at Bühler Networking Days, I believe the answer is yes.
At the media briefing in Uzwil, education was center stage.

What struck me most was how Bühler treats vocational training not just as a corporate duty, but as a strategic lever for resilience, innovation and inclusivity.
While Bühler showcased AI-driven solutions and sustainable processes throughout the event, the company didn’t overlook a fundamental truth: without skilled people, machines have no meaning.
This is why our industry must invest in millers — the people who transform grains into food every day. Bühler has recognized this challenge and is now scaling its training programs globally to meet it.
As someone who has been covering the milling sector for years, I believe this focus on human capital deserves as much attention as innovation in automation or energy savings. Because behind every kilo of flour, there’s a skilled hand and a trained eye.
