YAMANYILMAZ: WE BUILD NEW TRADE BRIDGES IN ANGOLA AND THE DEMOCRATIC CONGO…

Ali Can Yamanyılmaz, Vice Chair of the Mediterranean Fisheries and Animal Products Exporters’ Association (ASHIB), stated that the trade delegation activities they held in Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo, which are included in the list of target countries to which the Ministry of Trade will provide an additional 20 points in 2023, were very productive.

ASHİB Vice Chair Ali Can Yamanyılmaz, who is the head of the convoy of Angola and Democratic Republic of Congo trade delegations organized by the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) under the coordination of the Ministry of Trade, said, “As part of the Angola Trade Delegation held between 19-23 June; 27 of our companies held more than 400 bilateral business meetings with more than 250 Angolan companies. On July 18-21, we organized the Democratic Republic of Congo Trade Delegation. We held 350 bilateral business meetings with the participation of 200 Congolese companies in our delegation, which included 20 exporting companies. We are setting up new trade bridges.”

High export potential in industry, agriculture and food sectors…

Noting that Türkiye reached an export volume of 213.7 million dollars with an increase of 7.5 percent in the Angolan market last year and exported 96 million dollars to the Democratic Republic of the Congo with an increase of 81 percent, Ali Can Yamanyılmaz added that these countries are in a strategic position in Central Africa, therefore there are new opportunities for Turkish exporters.

“According to the data of the Ministry of Trade, there is a market of 1.4 billion dollars in potential agricultural and food products in the Angola market, in cereals, poultry meat, malt, biscuits, sugary and chocolate products and vegetable and animal oils. In potential agricultural and food products, the Democratic Republic of the Congo purchases 391 million dollars in seafood, poultry meat, milk and dairy products, pulses, bulghur, flour, instant soups, sauces, tomato paste, pasta, sugar and chocolate products, biscuits, mineral water, fruit juice product groups. As a result, our companies operating in these sectors have a chance to export much more to Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo,” he concluded…
