“OUR SECTORAL TRADE DELEGATION TO MOROCCO MET WITH MORE THAN 140 IMPORTER COMPANIES”

Veysel Memiş, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mediterranean Cereals, Pulses, Oil Seeds and Products Exporters’ Association (AHBİB), announced that they exported 138.7 million dollars in April. Stating that Iraq, Syria and Italy were the countries to which they exported the most in the fourth month of the year, Veysel Memiş reported that they reached a performance exceeding 41 times in the Kuwaiti market in export volume and that they also achieved strong acceleration in distant markets such as China, South Korea, Thailand and Indonesia.
‘We opened new trade doors in the Moroccan market’
Pointing out that they attach great importance to marketing activities with the aim of bringing the quality and taste of Turkish products to potential buyers, Veysel Memiş said, “In this context, we organised a Sectoral Trade Delegation in Casablanca, Morocco between 16-19 April 2025, therefore we opened new trade doors in this country.”

“Our 30 members who went to Casablanca under the coordination of our Board Members Şahin Sayılır and Serdar Yıldızgörer held meetings with more than 140 Moroccan importers at the B2B event. Within the scope of the programme, AHBIB members visited the facilities of the importers on site and both observed the dynamics of the market more closely and received direct information about the business processes. We believe that these visits make important contributions to the strengthening of mutual trust and the concretisation of commercial relations,” he noted.
Highlighting that the increasing export potential in Morocco, with the market showing a demand for packaged and long shelf-life food products, he added, “The Moroccan food import sector has an annual volume of 914.7 million dollars, providing opportunities for Turkish exports. Notably, Türkiye’s sectoral exports to Morocco saw a 70 percent spike in the first four months of 2025. AHBİB, the exporters’ Association, has made significant strides in international markets, with substantial export growth in countries like Kuwait and strong performances in markets such as Iraq, Syria, and Italy. Overall, AHBİB’s exports between January and April 2025 reached a value of 625.8 million dollars, indicating a positive trend towards achieving an annual export amount of 1 billion 980 million dollars as of April.”
