Export of the white figs grown in the Mut district of Mersin province have been started this season. In the first harvest, they were sold for 200 lira per kilogram, but are now selling for 180 lira per kilogram. A 35,000-tonne harvest is expected in the district.

Mut, where agricultural production continues 12 months a year, has seen white figs enter the international market this season, alongside apricots, plums, olives, pomegranates, apples, melons, watermelons and other vegetables. White figs, produced on 5,000 decares of land in the district, are expected to yield 35,000 tonnes this year.
In Mut, which supplies 85 percent of Türkiye’s table apricot demand, the fig harvest is now in full swing with the end of plum season. Mut white figs, particularly distinguished by their colour, flavour, aroma, size and shipping resistance, are in high demand in the German and Dubai markets…
