TIME TO STOP INTERFERING WITH BIODIVERSITY!

We must live in harmony with nature…

Sustainable Production and Consumption Association (SÜT-D), drawing attention to disapperance of species along with regeneration and protection of the nature on account of June 5, World Environment Day, called for the need knowing the value of each other and all species in our beautiful world.

Biodiversity has been chosen as June 5, World Environment Day theme. Because, according to the general opinion of scientists, 1 million species of out of 13 million diversity in the earth, defined as plants, animals, microorganisms, are gradually disappearing. Professor of Istanbul Technical University and President of the Sustainable Production and Consumption Association (SÜT-D) Dr. Filiz Karaosmanoğlu who said that this crime belongs to humans, said, “People who pollute their environment, change their climate and disrupt their balance in nature; faced with food safety, water supply and health problems. It is necessary to stop this process and time to repair, renew and protect ecosystems.”

We must stop interfering with biodiversity and the natural chain of life…

Biological disaster has become the cry of our world and our health became our priority. The tiny virus showed what we did to our planet and brought to the global agenda as a trigger. We learned with pain and loss that the health of our world is the most important determining factor for healthy people and healthy economy. Saying that the person who changed his nature should learn from such a change of life, Professor Karaosmanoğlu concluded, “In order for our life and economy to prosper, our planet must first prosper. Healthy living is possible on a healthy planet. We must stop interfering with biodiversity and the chain of wildlife.”
