The Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EİB), which increased its exports to 1 billion 257 million dollars with a rise of 14 percent in December, left 2020 behind with an export amount of 13 billion 4 million dollars.
In 2020, the agricultural exports of EİB members rose by 4 percent to 5 billion dollars and industrial exports reached 7 billion dollars. The export of the Aegean Region was 19.6 billion dollars in 2020.

Jak Eskinazi, Coordinator Chairman of EİB, said that the Aegean Exporters’ Associations left 2020 behind with new collaborations by creating new channels with their strong performance in digitalization under the most challenging conditions.
“In 2020, when the pandemic was effective, the decrease in the exports of EİB was limited to 2 percent. Especially, December was a month when 11 out of 12 exporters’ associations within the body of EİB increased their exports, 16 percent in agricultural sectors and 14 percent in industrial sectors,” Eskinazi noted.
“Thanks to the virtual exhibitions and sectoral trade missions we organized in 2020, we have broken grounds both in Turkey and in the world. Thus we pioneered innovations that create awareness in this field,” Eskinazi added.
“In 2020, our exporters managed to reach 216 different export markets. We will reach the 15 billion dollar export target we set for 2021 with our digitalization, logistics, R&D, green production, design and innovation-oriented export strategy,” Eskinazi concluded…
