Table olive exporters to surpass 200 million dollars by the end of 2023/24 season…

Providing information about the breakdown of Türkiye’s table olive exports, Davut Er said, “While our black olive exports were 45.3 million dollars between 1 October 2022 and 31 January 2023, it soared by 30 percent to 58.8 million dollars in the same period of the 2023/24 season, while our green olive exports decreased from 15.5 million dollars to 14.8 million dollars.”

“At the end of the 2023/24 season, we believe that our table olive exports will surge in terms of foreign exchange earnings, even if they fall behind last season in terms of quantity. We aim to close the 2023/24 season with table olive exports of around 75 thousand tonnes and a foreign currency return of more than 200 million dollars.”

“In Türkiye’s table olive exports, Germany was the clear leader with a share of 20.6 million dollars, of which 17.2 million dollars worth of black olives and 3.4 million dollars worth of green olives, while Iraq ranked second with 9.8 million dollars worth of black olives and 1.8 million dollars worth of green olives. Romania, one of Türkiye’s traditional markets in table olive exports, exported 7.5 million dollars worth of black olives and 467 thousand dollars worth of green olives. Other prominent countries in Türkiye’s table olive exports were the United States of America with a demand of 4.5 million dollars and Bulgaria with 3.5 million dollars,” Er added…
