Union of Turkish Agricultural Chambers (TZOB) President Şemsi Bayraktar made a series of visits in Türkiye’s Northwestern province of Edirne.
Pointing out that the countryside is ageing, TZOB President Bayraktar said, “Our countryside is ageing, the average age of the farmers has increased to 58 and we cannot keep our young people in the rural areas.”
Stating that the average age of people living in villages has increased to 58, Bayraktar added, “Our countryside is getting older. The average age has risen to 58 and we cannot keep our young people in rural areas. We expect the number of premium days of our farmers to be reduced to 7200 days like other insured persons.”
