In the news, which stated that the total value of the lands belonging to the first 20 companies is more than 617 billion rubles (approximately 8.3 billion dollars), it was noted that the largest agricultural land owner in the country is the Agrokompleks company belonging to the family of Tkachov with 660 thousand hectares of land.
Tkachov is known by his support to impose sanctions on Turkish agricultural crops, after the plane crisis between Russia and Turkey, mainly on tomatoes and cucumbers.
Some of the restrictions on the products in question continued despite the normalization process between the two countries, so Tkachov has been the target of criticism due to supply problems in basic agricultural products.
Russian President Vladimir Putin had dismissed Alexander Tkachov after his re-election in 2018.
