FOOD EXPORTS TO RUSSIA FROM EASTERN BLACK SEA REGION IN UPWARD TREND…

According to a compilation of data from the Eastern Black Sea Exporters’ Association (DKİB), 17,717 tons of peaches were sold from the region to Russia in January-August period this year.

Last year in the same period, 11,104 tons of peaches were exported from the Eastern Black Sea to Russia, resulting in an income of 11 million 895 thousand 207 dollars.

Thus, peach exports to Russia increased by 60 percent on amount and 55 percent on value basis compared to the same period last year.

All of the peach exports from the region were carried out by companies based in Trabzon.

Total exports from the region to Russia increased by 17 percent…

In this period, a total of 110 thousand 657 tons of exports were made from the Eastern Black Sea to Russia and an income of 104 million 312 thousand 829 dollars was obtained.

In the same period last year, 89 million 40 thousand 877 dollars were earned from the region in return of 96 thousand 802 tons of exports.

Total exports to Russia in the 8-month period of the year from the Eastern Black Sea increased by 14 percent in quantity and 17 percent in value compared to the same period last year.

Export to Russia from the region continue its upward trend…

Ahmet Hamdi Gürdoğan, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board of DKİB and the Sector Board of the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters Association, told Anadolu Agency (AA) that exports to Russia from the region continue to increase.

Emphasizing that the most product exported from the Eastern Black Sea to Russia in the 8-month period was peaches, Gürdoğan said, “All exports have veen made by companies based in Trabzon province.”

Noting that besides peaches, fish, mandarin, tomato and apricot are the most exported products from the region, Gürdoğan added, “We are doing our best to make the 2020-2021 season better.”
