Kayseri, an Anatolian province with no coastline, exports Turkish salmon raised in its inland waters to 49 countries, primarily island nations such as Japan and the United Kingdom.

Kayseri…
Turkish salmon produced in Kayseri, an important industrial and commercial region in the Central Anatolia Region, is shipped to many parts of the world.
Bülent Saklav, Director of the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, announced that despite being a province far from the sea, Kayseri holds an important position in aquaculture.

Saklav noted that Kayseri has made significant progress in fish production over the years, stating:
“We produce Turkish salmon in 40 facilities in the Pınarbaşı and Kocasinan districts of Kayseri. We also produce trout fry and eggs. Last year, we ranked fourth in Turkey in inland fish farming with our production of 6,655 tonnes of Turkish salmon in these 40 facilities. Kayseri meets 37 percent of Türkiye’s demand for trout and fry eggs. In this regard, we are number one in the country.”
“98 percent of the fish we produce is for export”
Emphasising the importance of exports, Saklav said, “98 percent of the salmon we produce in our 40 facilities is for export. We export Turkish salmon from here to 49 countries, including the island nations of England and Japan, as well as Russia. Exporting fish from our province of Kayseri to island nations is very important. We believe we have been successful in this regard. We hope to boost this further.”
