Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı, in his meeting with Ukrainian Minister of Agriculture Vitaliy Koval, said, “We want to remove the barriers to Türkiye’s exports of milk and dairy products to Ukraine.”
Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı met with Ukrainian Minister of Agriculture Vitaliy Koval in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine. Speaking at the meeting held at the Ministry of Agriculture of Ukraine, Minister Yumaklı emphasised that the relations between the two countries have developed in many ways, especially in the last 10 years.

Negotiations kicked off for the export of milk and dairy products…
Yumaklı, who demanded the removal of obstacles to Türkiye’s exports of milk and dairy products to Ukraine, said, “I would like to point out that our country has the status of an approved country for the export of many animal products, especially milk and dairy products, heat-treated poultry meat, to the European Union. Despite this, trade restrictions have been imposed on Ukraine for many animal products exported from our country to the EU and many other countries. We demand this to be removed. We would be very pleased if steps are taken in this regard.”
In response to this request of Minister Yumaklı, Koval stated that he would assign a delegation on the issue. During the meeting, Yumaklı also highlighted that Ukraine’s water and irrigation infrastructure was damaged due to the war and explained, “Our country is an important partner and supportive country for Ukraine, especially with its strength in irrigation systems, agricultural technology, R&D, seed and food processing industry. In this context, Türkiye’s experience in these fields can be combined with Ukraine’s vast lands in the war-affected regions of Ukraine with experts and joint studies to enhance productivity. I would like to direct a team from our ministry to carry out technical work on the reconstruction of irrigation infrastructure as a priority.”
Yumaklı also stated that Türkiye has an important place in the production and export of agricultural machinery and added that Türkiye can be a good alternative for Ukraine when both favourable cost and logistic proximity are considered and if the conditions are met, agricultural machinery exports to Ukraine can be made.
