Antalya Commodity Exchange President (ATB) Ali Çandır announced that in the first 7 months of 2024, 20.6 percent of Türkiye’s fresh fruit and vegetable exports and 45.8 percent of ornamental plants and products exports were made from Antalya.

Stating that in the first 7 months of 2024, compared to the first 7 months of the previous year, Çandır said, “There is a 10.4 percent shrinkage in Antalya in fresh fruit and vegetable exports.”
“Antalya’s growth rate in total exports remained below the country average. While fresh fruit and vegetable exports grew by 1.7 percent across the country, it shrank by 10.4 percent in Antalya region. Ornamental plants and products exports shrunk by 0.1 percent in Türkiye, while in Antalya grew by 3.4 percent. While total agricultural and food exports grew by 4.9 percent in general, it shrank by 2.8 percent in our region,” Çandır noted.

Indicating that Antalya’s fresh fruit and vegetable exports decreased by 5.5 percent to 36.4 million dollars, ornamental plants and products exports decreased by 6 percent to 3 million dollars, Çandır concluded, “Antalya’s exports for the last 7 months soared by 1.6 percent compared to last year and reached 1.27 billion dollars, while the exports of fresh fruit and vegetable for the last 7 months decreased by 10.4 percent to 396.1 million dollars. Antalya’s ornamental plants and products exports for the last 7 months soared by 3.4 percent to 42.3 million dollars.
