Farmers show keen interest in agricultural census!

To date, information on 450,000 producers has been recorded in the nationwide agricultural census.

According to information obtained by an Anatolian Agency (AA) correspondent from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), the general agricultural census launched in July to collect data that plays an important role in determining agricultural policies is continuing.

The census, launched in collaboration between the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and TÜİK, includes all agricultural enterprises (households, household partnerships, companies, cooperatives) engaged in plant or animal production activities.

Within the scope of the census, 973 census offices have been established in all districts and in the central districts of 51 provinces that do not have metropolitan status, while ‘provincial and district census committees’ established under the chairmanship of provincial and district governors are coordinating the census process.

The results are expected to be announced in the second half of 2026…

While preparing the data and software infrastructure to enable real-time comparison of the information declared in the agricultural census with administrative, population, and tractor-harvester registration records related to the sector in the Farmer Registration System (ÇKS), as well as cadastral information, the data collected within this scope is not used for purposes other than statistical ones. The data collected to shed light on the agricultural sector is not shared with third parties, administrative, judicial, or military authorities or institutions, and farmers are not subject to any obligations such as taxes.

Over 5,000 personnel are working during the census period. Within this framework, an average of over 40,000 applications were made and surveys were completed each day during the week of 11-15 August and since the start of the agricultural census, information has been recorded from over 450,000 farmers.

The fieldwork is expected to be completed by the end of the year and the preliminary results are anticipated to be announced in the second half of 2026…
