KAZIM TAYCI: TURKİYE EXPORTS 847 MILLION DOLLARS OF CEREALS IN JANUARY

Export of 847 million dollars from the cereal sector in January…

The cereal industry exported 847.6 million dollars in January. The sector achieved an export increase of 41.5 percent in this period. Kazım Taycı, Chairman of the Board of Tayaş Gıda, said, “As an industry, we achieved an increase of 41.5 percent in January compared to the same month of the previous year. We want to continue our export growth in the coming months.”

Evaluating the export figures of the sector, Taycı said, “As the sector, we achieved an increase of 41.5 percent in January compared to the same month of the previous year. We want to continue our export growth in the coming months. In January, we exported to 190 countries. In this period, the top 4 countries to which we exported were Iraq with 150 million dollars, USA with 59.5 million dollars, Syria with 43.8 million dollars and Libya with 29 million dollars.”

“One of the most striking countries in January was India. In 2021, half of the product sold for the whole year was exported in the last two months. Exports to Afghanistan increased 15 times that of January last year with the effect of the conjuncture; over 15 million dollars per month. We will continue to work for our country’s economy and the future of our industry,” Taycı noted.

“MILLING PRODUCTS” AT THE PEAK IN SUB-SECTORS…

Pointing out the export figures of the sub-sectors, Taycı added, “When we look at the sub-divisions of the sector, the highest export in January 2022; 160.2 million dollars was realized in milling products, an increase of 40.5 compared to the same month of the previous year. This sector was followed by the pastry products with 145.2 million dollars export and vegetable oils with 142.6 million dollars.”

“When we look at our other sub-sectors, food preparations are 89.6 million dollars, pulses are 76.18 million dollars, sugar and sugar products are 75.5 million dollars, oilseeds and their products are 46.9 million dollars, cereals 13.9 and spices 3.6 million dollars,” Taycı concluded…
