Vegetable oil exports from Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EIB) to 74 countries…
Aegean Grains, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products Exporters’ Association has increased its exports from 388 million dollars to 514 million dollars in a year.
Vegetable oil, on the other hand, was one of the export items, which increased by 350 percent in June.
Chairman of the Board of Aegean Grains, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products Exporters’ Association Mustafa Terci said that they are an increase record holder in the first half of 2019 and 2020.
Terci stated, “By signing a new record in June, we have performed very well in the last 6 months. Our grains, legumes and oilseeds sector boosted its exports to 17.7 percent with an increase of 47.7 million dollars. In the last year, our exports rose by 32 percent and reached 514 million dollars. We reached our export target of 500 million dollars in 2020 in the first half. If this speed in our exports continues, we target 600 million dollars this year. Our most growing product in June was vegetable oils.”
Pointing out that vegetable oils soared more than 50 percent in the exports of our Association, showed an increase of 350 percent compared to the previous period and reached 27 million dollars, Terci added, “We export vegetable oil from the Middle East to Africa to many parts of the world. We exported vegetable oil to 74 countries in total: 6 million dollars to Libya, 5 million dollars to India, 4 million dollars to Yemen, 2 million dollars to South Africa, 1 million dollars to Djibouti.”
Other export items of the Aegean Grains, Pulses, Oil Seeds and Products Exporters’ Association, which have increased the most in the last year, are as follows;
“Oil cake and animal feeds increased by 118 percent to 35 million dollars, oilseeds increased by 104 percent to 100 million dollars, milling products increased by 51 percent to 23 million dollars, pulses increased by 38 percent to 4.7 million dollars, chocolate and confectionery products increased by 31 percent to 51 million dollars, cereals and products were 30 million dollars with an increase of 25 percent and vegetable oils were 223 million dollars with an increase of 16 percent.”
