In Kurtalan district of Southeastern province of Siirt, the harvest of blackberries, which are sold and exported to Türkiye’s domestic market and the world, started with a ceremony. Blackberries produced on 230 decares of land in Yunuslar village of the district are exported to the domestic market and the world. Speaking at the harvest ceremony, Siirt Governor Dr. Kemal Kızılkaya stated that blackberries are a more valuable product than the defense industry.

Speaking at the harvest ceremony, Siirt Governor Dr. Kemal Kızılkaya said, “Blackberries are exported with an added value of about 30 dollars. In our defense industry, the figure we obtained per kilogram was 21 dollars in the past years. In other words, blackberries are actually a valuable product even more than the defense industry in this sense.”
“It is a very valuable product that can be sent to all over the world in many areas from exports to fruit juice to pastry sector, especially in frozen form,” he added…
