The ‘Regulation on the Leasing of Uncultivated Agricultural Land for Agricultural Purposes’ prepared by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry entered into force after being published in the Official Gazette.
Accordingly, agricultural lands owned by real and legal persons and not cultivated for two consecutive years will be leased by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry for agricultural purposes on a seasonal basis.

The Regulation covers the works and procedures regarding the seasonal leasing of agricultural lands owned by real and legal persons and not cultivated for two consecutive years by the Ministry for agricultural purposes. Agricultural lands that have not been cultivated for two consecutive years will be leased by the Ministry on a seasonal basis, provided that the nature of the land is not changed and used in agricultural production by the lessor.
A Land Determination Commission will be established within the provincial or district directorate in order to determine the lands to be leased. The Land Determination Commission will convene under the chairmanship of the deputy provincial director or branch manager in the provincial directorate and the district manager in the district directorate. The commission will consist of five full and two substitute members, including the chairman.
