Member companies of the Western Mediterranean Exporters’ Association (BAİB), which covers Antalya, Isparta and Burdur provinces, exported 945 million 662 thousand 661 dollars with an increase of 8.3 percent in the 4-month period.

BAİB Chairman of the Board of Directors Ümit Mirza Çavuşoğlu announced in a written statement that they aim for the exports of the region to reach the figure of 1 billion dollars soon and to reach 2 billion dollars at the end of August.
Stating that exports from the region only in April surged by 8.5 percent to 239 million 23 thousand 29 dollars, Çavuşoğlu said:
“In the four-month period, we exported 945 million 662 thousand 661 dollars with an increase of 8.3 percent. Our fresh fruit and vegetable sector made the most exports from our region in the 4-month period with an increase of 6.3 percent and 320 million 274 thousand 223 dollars. The exports of our mines and metals sector, which ranked second, were 147 million 315 thousand 460 dollars with a 7.9 percent loss. 86 million dollars of 147.3 million dollars of exports were made by our marble sector. In the third place of the list, our wood forest products sector took place with an increase of 1.80 per cent and 106 million 964 thousand 753 dollars.”
Çavuşoğlu also reported that the highest exports from the region in the four-month period were made to Ukraine with 78 million 419 thousand 850 dollars, with Germany in second place and Russia in third place…
