In the January-April period of 2025, 104 thousand 213 tonnes of hazelnuts were exported from Türkiye and foreign currency inflow amounting to 853 million 91 thousand dollars was obtained. When these export realisations were compared with the same period of the previous year, there was an increase of 6 percent in quantity and 9 percent in value.

Mehmet Cirav, Chairman of the Hazelnut and Hazelnut Products Sector Committee of the Eastern Black Sea Exporters’ Association (DKİB), who made evaluations on the subject, stated that in the first 4 months of the year, exports were made to 111 different countries from Türkiye and that the top 5 countries to which the most exports were made were Italy, Germany, France, Poland and Spain respectively.
Cirav reported a successful hazelnut export season, with 238,819 tonnes exported for 1.94 billion dollars in foreign currency during the 8-month period starting in September, showing a 12 percent spike in quantity and 23 percent in value compared to the previous year.
“Additionally, for the first four months of 2025, Trabzon province alone exported 33,676 tonnes of hazelnuts, generating 297.48 million dollars in foreign currency, reflecting a 9 percent spike in quantity and 16 percent in value compared to the previous year,” Cirav said.
Indicating that Trabzon province was highlighted as the top hazelnut exporter in the country, accounting for 35 percent of hazelnut exports from January to April 2025, Cirav added, “In the 8-month period of the 2024/2025 export season, Trabzon exported 70,422 tonnes valued at 625.97 million dollars, marking a 28 percent spike in quantity and 48 percent in value compared to the previous season.”
