The West Mediterranean Exporters’ Association (BAİB) announced that exports reached 2.016 billion dollars in the first nine months of this year. The region’s top export destinations were fresh fruit and vegetables, with China, Germany and the US being the top export destinations.

Exports from the West Mediterranean Exporters’ Association (BAİB), encompassing Antalya, Isparta and Burdur, reached 2.016 billion dollars in the first nine months of this year.
BAİB Chairman Ümit Mirza Çavuşoğlu, speaking at a press conference at the association headquarters, stated that they had increased their international visits and participation in trade fairs to boost the region’s exports, and that they were beginning to reap the rewards.
Underlinging that exports from the region reached 2.016 billion dollars in the first nine months of the year, he said, “We achieved a 2.68 percent increase in exports from our region in the first nine months. We had set a target of approximately 5 percent increase for the end of the year, and we are gradually progressing towards this goal.”
Çavuşoğlu also emphasized that fresh fruit and vegetable exports were the largest in the first nine months of the year, followed by mining, wood, forest products, chemicals and grain and oilseed sectors.
