Sixteen leading grain importers from leading European countries met in Gaziantep last week. Buyer delegations from the United Kingdom, Germany, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria and Serbia met with companies that are members of the Southeastern Anatolia Exporters’ Association (GAİB). Held at a time when global supply chains are being reshaped, the meeting strengthened the strategic role of the Turkish food sector in the European market and laid a strong foundation for new investments and business partnerships in bilateral trade.

Speaking at the “UK and European Countries Buyer Delegation” programme held at the GAİB Service Building, Celal Kadooğlu, Chair of the Southeastern Anatolia Cereals, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products Exporters’ Association, drew attention to the strategic power of Gaziantep province and Southeastern Anatolia in sectoral exports.
“Actually, our priority when preparing this programme was the UK, but we quickly received strong interest from Germany, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria and Serbia too. The fact that we are hosting a total of 16 companies from five countries here today demonstrates the attractiveness of our region in international trade,” Kadooğlu said.
