Turkish salmon exports from the Black Sea region increased by 149 percent in the January-August period of the year, reaching 81 million 645 thousand 462 dollars and 11 thousand 183 tonnes of Turkish salmon were exported.
Eastern Black Sea Exporters’ Assocation (DKİB) Supervisory Board Member and Deputy Chairman of the Fisheries Sector Committee İlker Yıldırım said that exports were made to 14 countries from the region in 8 months of the year.
Stating that 11,183 tonnes of Turkish salmon were exported from the Black Sea during this period, Yıldırım announced that 81 million 645 thousand 462 dollars were gained from this export.
“INCREASED 149 PERCENT IN 79 VALUES”
Noting that in the same period of last year, 32 million 810 thousand 326 dollars were obtained in return for 6 thousand 243 tonnes of exports from the region, Yıldırım said, “Thus, Turkish salmon exports in the 8 months of the year rose by 79 percent and 149 percent in value compared to the same period of the previous year.”
Drawing attention to the market diversity in exports, Yıldırım continued as follows:
“The Russian Federation, Vietnam and Japan were the countries with the highest exports. In this period, Turkish salmon exports to Russia increased by 131 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, to 51 million 867 thousand 465 dollars, and exports to Vietnam increased by 97 percent to 14 million 74 Exports to Japan increased by 233 percent and reached 5 million 688 thousand 488 dollars.”
