Press release…

Hocaoğlu Ziraat, a producer of Gölmarmara district of Manisa province, makes organic production on 330 decares, delivered the first early harvest olive oils of the season to Alhatoğlu, one of the leading brands in the sector.

Producers Immet, Ozan Cemal and Onur Hocaoğlu said that they obtained their oil from their family olive groves (gardens) that are 500 to 600 years old.

Immet Hocaoğlu said, “This year, despite the pandemic, we took care of our olives much better than ourselves. The quality of our olives is good, as in previous years.”

A golden thank…

Alper and Mustafa Alhat brothers, partners of Alhatoğlu Oil Company, thanked the producers who delivered their early pressed olive oils with gold as their family tradition.

Stating that as Alhatoğlu, they started to receive the first olive oils of the season, Mustafa Alhat noted, “Even during the pandemic process, we thank our producers who look after their trees and increase the quality of trees and olive with good agricultural practices. We appreciate their devotion to the production they make, our tables will be festive with olive oil this year.”

Mustafa Alhat reminded that the olive harvest lasts for an average of 3 months and added, “We are in the early harvest period. We started with green olives. The feature of early harvest oils is their high amount of phenolic compounds. Oils with high phenolic compounds have a bitter and burning taste and are especially sought after by gourmets.”

Rich in antioxidants…

Pointing out that early harvest olive oils produced in small quantities are richer in antioxidants, Alper Alhat concluded, “If you are looking for a great way to stay healthy, do not give up olive oil. This year, the champion of quality is again Akhisar.”

  • Akhisar; a district of Manisa province and a leading olive producing region across Turkey.
