‘Poultry meat will be exported from Türkiye to European Union countries’
Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı announced that they have been working intensively to export fresh and heat-treated poultry meat to the European Union (EU) since 2009 and that 8 of the poultry meat processing facilities can export heat-treated poultry meat to the European Union (EU) and that this has been approved by the EU.
“We have had very intensive negotiations with the European Union since last year regarding the export of poultry meat. These intensive efforts have yielded results. Especially 8 of the poultry meat processing facilities will be able to export heat-treated poultry meat to the European Union, approved by the European Union,” Yumaklı said.
Pointing out that according to an official letter from EU officials, the procedure for registering slaughterhouses deemed appropriate by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry in the EU’s TRACES NT system will enter into force as of 15 January 2025, Yumaklı added, “We aim to increase Türkiye’s export potential in the poultry meat sector, in this respect our ministry is determinedly continuing its efforts to ramp up the number of countries to which products are exported.”
