Ferhat Gürüz, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mediterranean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters Association, announced that Türkiye exported 367 million dollars in January with a hike of 13 percent compared to the same period last year. Emphasising that the Mediterranean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association, which reached an export value of 178.5 million dollars with an increase of 8 percent in the first month of the year, supported 49 percent of Türkiye’s fresh fruit and vegetable exports, Chairman Ferhat Gürüz also stated that they are working hard to be more effective in the European and Canadian markets and to enter the Chinese market.

Pointing out that they successfully carried out the national participation organisation for the 21st time at Fruit Logistica, one of the largest fresh fruit and vegetable fairs in Europe and one of the world’s leading fresh fruit and vegetable fairs, held in Berlin, the capital of Germany, between 7-9 February, Gürüz said, “41 companies from the fresh fruit and vegetable, citrus and packaging sectors introduced their products at the Turkish pavilion and established new trade contacts.”
Noting that the European Union market had a 37 percent share in the exports of the Turkish fresh fruit and vegetable sector last year with a value of 1.3 billion dollars, President Ferhat Gürüz explained, “Fruit Logistica is an important platform where there are many opportunities to establish business relations with all European Union members, especially Germany and buyers from many countries of the world.
