“Fruit and vegetable exports to Germany soared by 24 percent”

The Turkish fruit and vegetable sector ramped up its exports to Germany, the country’s leading market in exports, where 3.5 million expatriates live, from 543 million dollars to 675 million dollars with an increase of 24 percent in 2023. It set an export target of 1 billion dollars. The sector made a landing at the Berlin Fruit Logistica Fair to reach the target of 1 billion dollars.

Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association (EYMSİB), which opened a stand at the Berlin Fruit Logistica Fair, where 54 companies from Türkiye participated, presented Turkish flavours to the taste of buyers from Germany and all over the world.

Stating that food sector representatives from all over the world participated in the Berlin Fruit Logistica Fair, Hayrettin Uçak, Head of the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association, said that every part of the value chain, including seeds, fruit-vegetable cultivation, packaging and automation services, as well as fresh fruits and vegetables, were included in the fair.

Indicating that Türkiye’s fresh fruit and vegetable exports to Germany surged strongly in 2023, Uçak said, “Our aim is to boost the exports of our sector to Germany to 1 billion dollars. Berlin Fruit Logistica Fair offers important opportunities in this sense.”
