EXPORTERS REACT TO THE FOREIGN EXIT FEE:
ARE WE OUT OF FAVOUR?

With the Law No. 7524 on the Amendment of Tax Laws and Certain Laws and Decree Law No. 375, which was adopted in the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TGNA – TBMM), the amount of the exit fee abroad was increased by 233 percent and increased to 500 TL, causing the reaction of the exporters.

The exporters of the Eastern Black Sea region who sent a demand letter to all MPs of the region during the discussion of the law in the sub-committees and the General Assembly in the TGNA, are rebelling against the adoption of the law without taking into account these demands.

The exporters are also in great reproach that the MPs, who should be in touch with the problems of the region, are insensitive to the development of exports in their regions.

Exporters, who are in the trouble of bringing foreign currency to the country in a thousand difficulties and hardships, but who have lost their competitive opportunities due to the pressures in exchange rates that are not seen in any country, ask the authorities who claim to apply the so-called export-based development model; is this the export-based support model?

Exporters urgently ask that in order to return from this mistake that offends them and will cause a hike in their costs, with the communiqué to be issued for the implementation of the law; ‘EXPORTERS WHO ACTUALLY EXPORT’ phrase is added to those who are exempt from the Foreign Departure Fee Application, and exporters demand that exporters be exempted from the application of the foreign departure fee.

Eastern Black Sea exporters hope that their voices will be heard this time, that this disproportionate practice, which is not seen in any country in the world, will be revised as soon as possible and that exporters will not be disregarded…
