YUM-BİR Chair İbrahim Afyon, who attended the Business Conference organised by the World Egg Organisation (WEO) in Warsaw with a large delegation, shared Türkiye’s production capacity and sectoral priorities with global industry representatives. Highlighting global production and trade balances, Afyon emphasised Türkiye’s aim to play a more active role on international platforms.

The Central Union of Egg Producers (YUM-BİR) participated in the Business Conference organised by the World Egg Organisation (WEO) in Warsaw from 19–21 April 2026 with a large delegation.
Led by YUM-BİR Chair İbrahim Afyon, the delegation of approximately 20 people engaged in discussions with global sector representatives over the course of three days, directly sharing Türkiye’s production capacity and sectoral priorities on the international stage. During the conference, Afyon highlighted global production and trade balances, emphasising the country’s objective of assuming a more active role on international platforms.

WEO executives invited to the summit…
The YUM-BİR delegation, which met with WEO President Juan Felipe Montoya Muñoz, Vice-President Roger Pelissero and Secretary-General Julian Madeley during the conference, invited the WEO leadership to the 7th Egg Summit to be held in Antalya in November 2026. It is anticipated that Pelissero will attend the summit in his capacity as President following his assumption of the WEO Presidency in September.
Furthermore, a proposal to hold a global-scale WEO meeting in Istanbul was discussed; it was noted that this approach was viewed favourably in principle and that work on the process could be initiated. These contacts stood out as a concrete step towards strengthening Türkiye’s capacity to host international organisations…
